Elisa Scavino | Meet the Winemaker

Paolo Scavino is an unforgettable historical winery in the Barolo region. It was founded in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto from Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo. The estate has long been known for producing wines that translate the pure expression of the land.

Today, Enrico Scavino together with his daughters Enrica and Elisa run the Barolo family Estate in Italy. Their work is inspired by the affection and reverence they have for the area. They pursue purity of expression for their wines from the three local grapes:  Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo.

To Elisa Scavino, there was never any doubt she would be a winemaker. Early in her life, Elisa worked hard to join her father Enrico’s profession. To her, to be a successful winemaker is to honor her father.

It’s our great pleasure to welcome 4th generation winemaker Elisa Scavino to the shop this Wednesday, May 25th for our ‘Why Not Wednesday’ tasting. Join us from 4-7 pm and taste exceptional wines with unparalleled family tradition from Piemonte!

Featured selections from Paolo Scavino will be on sale until May 31st, 2016.
